HARMONISATION / JOB EVALUATION
NEW
BALLOT ON REVISED PACKAGE
Following rejection of the
previous Harmonisation and Job Evaluation package, UNISON on behalf of their
members have negotiated further improvements to go alongside those contained in
the original package. There is now
a need to consult members in the form of a further ballot.
These improvements are as follows:
·
Payment for working between
8.00pm and 10.00pm at time and a fifth
·
Premium payments for
working free day and rest day
·
Movement on the management
structures of both parks and gardens and indoor recreation
·
The removal of social
worker posts from the phase 1 proposals as they are through grades
·
New appointments and
promotions will get the contract hours of the workgroup which they join
·
Employees who are currently
on career grades will be able to progress to the top of the current contractual
grade. For all current career
graded posts there will be a Job Evaluation score and equivalent factor levels
for each grade. The employees
duties and responsibilities will be assessed against the Job Evaluation scheme
and if they attain the appropriate factor levels they will be allowed to
progress.
Members employed in schools
and whose terms and conditions are determined by each governing body will be
balloted when the package proposed for these staff is decided.
UNISON believes that this
new improved package is the best that can be achieved by negotiations.
Given the changes to the
package, as outlined above, we urge members to use their vote on this important
issue. Please make sure you
complete your ballot paper and return it in the prepaid envelope to be received
no later than 12noon on Friday, 11 July
2008.
